Our Pastor
James Odom
Pastor James Odom was born and raised in Dallas, TX; being raised in a God-fearing home, he was taught early on the importance of a relationship with God. His ministry started at a young age preaching his first sermon at 15. In 1998 he relocated to Houston continuing to use his musical talents while deepening his study in the word. In 2006 he attended the College of Biblical Studies focusing on Theology.
Gifted and trained in ministry and musically he loves equipping God’s people to respond to what He is doing in their lives, creating a ministry atmosphere that people want to be a part of.
He is a passionate visionary and experienced ministry leader who is a life-long student and a life-changing communicator of biblical truth. Highly motivated to help people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds experience authentic spiritual growth and transformation through God’s Spirit.
“The most important thing about me is my relationship with Christ, and the calling he has put on my life to worship Him.” My goal is to glorify God in everything I do, to worship and experience God daily, and to lead others to do the same.”
Pastoral Ministry
In 1998 James began his ministry as the associate Pastor of the New Hope Family Worship Center, serving under the late Marvin Mimms. During this time, he also produced a musical project called “Lord I Really Want to Know You”.
Being a visionary with a passion for outreach and evangelism. His ministry has taken him near and abroad. Pastor James Odom has spent more than 20 years as a Pastor growing churches across Houston, Texas. His heart is to impact the lives of adults, youth and children through passionate worship and the word of God.
Life Outside of the Pastoral Role
I my relationship-building and leadership skills in the marketplace. I have built a lucrative career in Sales at a leading Fortune 500 company. In my downtime, I enjoy reading, traveling, and trying out new cuisines. My favorite place to visit has been Paris, France and I'm looking forward to visiting more places.
